About Me
If you asked 12-year-old me what I wanted to be when I grew up, I would’ve told you I wanted to be a professional Soccer player for the Washington Freedom. My love of sports began ever since I could kick a ball, and while I started as an athlete who dreamed of playing at the next level, I found that I was better suited on the sidelines or in the press box.
My journey in the sports media industry started at the University of Virginia, where I participated in every internship in the athletics department (including "doughnut girl"). Over four years, I learned just how much the industry had to offer, and I was determined to find my niche. It was not until my third year, when I took a sports journalism class, that I discovered my calling - sports journalism. I have always been fascinated with storytelling within the sports world, and I was allowed to make my own short documentary. From then on out, I was hooked on video production, both long and short form, and soon enough, social media became essential. Over time, I went from producing/editing short documentaries to creating mixtapes and gifs and eventually found myself making memes. I am passionate about the evolving world of social media and content creation. I love researching and learning about industry trends, brainstorming new content concepts, and crafting social strategies. I’m constantly challenging myself to learn new skills and refine my current techniques, whether trying a new Photoshop feature or working on my editing skills in Premiere. I am passionate about connecting with others in the industry, engaging with fans on social and in person, creating digital communities, and telling stories through compelling content. When I am not scrolling through my feeds looking for the latest trend, you can find me rooting for any of my sports teams (the ‘Hoos, the Commanders, the Caps, the Nats), reading a book, walking dogs, puzzling, and participating in the Alzheimer’s Association fundraising efforts. Feel free to reach out and connect; I’m always looking to meet others in the industry! |
